In our noisy, hectic, and divisive world, we are invited to experience the presence of God through song, Scripture, prayer communion and community. A deeper and fuller life is formed when we connect with God's presence and one another.

What should I wear?

Come as you are! We're a pretty casual community, so you'll see people wearing everything from shorts and sandals to jeans and dresses. There's no dress code and no need to dress up. Wear whatever makes you comfortable. We're much more interested in getting to know you than what you're wearing.

Risen Church San Diego follows a historic Christian pattern of worship that brings together Scripture, prayer, singing, preaching, confession, and weekly communion.

Our Sunday gatherings are intentionally participatory and intergenerational. Rather than treating worship as a performance to watch, we invite everyone to participate in a shared rhythm of receiving God's grace and responding with faith, gratitude, and love.

For the website's What to Expect section, I would describe the service as rooted in ancient Christian practices, expressed in a warm and accessible way.

What does Risen offer my kids on Sundays?

Kids belong at Risen! We believe children and students are an important part of our church family. We partner with parents to help young people know Jesus, build meaningful relationships, and grow in faith.

Every Sunday, children begin worship alongside their families before being invited to age-appropriate Kids Club classes filled with Bible stories, games, creative activities, and meaningful conversations.

  • Nursery (ages 0–2): A caring space for our youngest children.

  • Sprouts (ages 3–1st grade): Playful, engaging activities that introduce children to God's love.

  • Sunrise (2nd–5th grade): Bible lessons, activities, and friendships that help kids grow in faith.

  • Middle & High School: Students are encouraged to participate in the larger worshiping community, build relationships across generations, and discover ways to serve and lead.

We also strive to create a welcoming, inclusive environment for children with disabilities and diverse learning needs.

First time visiting? Stop by our Welcome Tent when you arrive, and our team will help your family get settled. Children are always welcome to stay with you during worship.

Can I worship with Risen online?

Absolutely! We livestream our Sunday worship gatherings on YouTube every Sunday at 10:00 AM. Whether you're traveling, home sick, exploring Risen for the first time, or simply unable to join us in person, you're welcome to worship with us online.
