OUR VISION:

The gospel renews, unites and compels US.

The gospel renews.  We change and grow as we respond to God’s presence & renewing work in our lives, communities and world.

“Behold, I am making all things new.” (Revelation 21:5)

The gospel unites. We become a different kind of community as we practice the way of way of Jesus together. We celebrate the diversity within the different backgrounds, cultures, socio-economics and abilities that make up our community. To that end, we labor to bridge racial, cultural, economic & gender barriers.

“Behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb…” (Revelation 7:9)

The gospel compels. We see how God is bringing life around us, in our neighborhoods, work-places, families, and in this church, and we join in what He is doing. We offer who we are in service seeking the flourishing and the shalom of our city.

“You are the salt of the earth and you are the light of the world. ” (Matthew 5:13-14)

OUR PRACTICE

We are a Centered-set Church

At Risen, we seek to be a centered-set church, which means our life together is shaped by a shared commitment to Jesus rather than by drawing rigid lines around who is in or out. We often describe this as being a community of wells, not fences. Fences focus on boundaries and exclusion, while wells draw people toward a life-giving center. Jesus is our center, and we believe people come to him from different backgrounds, experiences, questions, and stages of faith. What matters most is not where someone begins, but whether they are orienting their lives toward Christ. As a community, we strive to create Jesus-shaped wells that invite people to belong, explore, grow, and be transformed by the grace and love of God.
